WHAT IS REBORNING?

Reborning is a doll making art. The reborn doll is created to be as realistically as possible. It is a long and detailed process. We spend many hours on the smallest details to bring our babies to life. You would almost expect to hear the little ones heart beat and hear them breathe.

The Reborning Process:

We only use high quality Genesis paints on our babies. The outside of our babies are highlighted with natural skin tones, paying special attention to over tones and undertones. No little crease or wrinkle is ever overlooked. Eyebrows are delicately painted on for an almost not there look or rooted with mohair for a more realistic effect. Lips are carefully and realisticly painted and sealed with a satin sealer.

Realistic paint effects such as mottling to the cheeks and veining to the head and limbs is applied.

We carefully micro root babies hair using tiny rooting needles and the finest angora Kid, alpaca. The hair is sealed from the inside with a strong water proof glue after each rooting session. This allows the new Mom to style and comb babies hair without it pulling out. Each rooting session is 1-2 hours in length and there are many sessions to complete one babies hair.

Eyelashes are micro rooted for sleeping babies. Other eyelashing teqniques are used for open-eyed babies. Beautiful realistic eyes are inserted on open eyed babies for the most realistic look possible.

In most cases we carefully open the little nose and back the nostrils inside with high quality felt so the nostrils look open like a real baby. If the mold has deep nostrils, we may not do this and will highlight the nostrils instead.

The final touch is to paint and seal the doll's toenails and fingernails with white tips. Something like a French manicure. The doll is then reassembled. We fill the limbs with high-quality tiny glass beads for a realistic weight and soft squishy feel. Each limb is topped with polyester fibre and sealed to prevent leakage. We fill the body with a combination of glass beads and polyester fibre for a real baby feel.

The head is then weighted appropriately with beads and polyester fibre for a natural baby head feel. Mommy will need to support babies head just like a real baby.

Now we have the enjoyment of dressing the little one.
